I have been an artist my entire life, and fortunate to make a living from it. In 1995 I became interested in stones as medium for my art. At first I learned faceting. I became interested in fire agate when I read an article in the Lapidary Journal, about botryoidally cut fire agate. I had not seen anything like it before. Actually I thought fire agate was a boring stone, till I saw pictures of them in that particular article. One day I was cruising around the Clouds rock and mineral show, at Quartzsite Az. I ran into a man who had botryoidally cut fire agate on display at his booth. After introducing myself to him, I showed him some of my artwork and he let me drewl over the stones he cut......Over the next year, he and I became pretty good friends. He told me a few of his polishing techniques. ...

I don't think I've ever experienced so much frustration at anything I've tried to do before. learning this was tough.

Thank you for visiting........Ardee
